<p>It looks like Summer Walker is moving on up to the executive level with the launch of her very own imprint, “Ghetto Earth Records,” which is a joint venture deal with Interscope Records. She recently announced her label and spoke about her new venture within the industry.</p>
<p>Summer said to <em><a href="https://www.billboard.com/articles/business/9496635/summer-walker-ghetto-earth-records/">Billboard</a></em>, “I came up with Ghetto Earth because earth is ghetto. I don&#8217;t wanna be controlling over my artist&#8217;s music. I want them to be fully involved in everything they put out. I&#8217;m just here to support and help them get to wherever it is they&#8217;re trying to go in life.”</p>
<p>With the launch of her label, Summer already has her first artist, which is NO1-NOAH, who collaborated with summer on her latest EP “Life on Earth.”</p>
<p>“I feel like being on Summer&#8217;s team is the right home for me to be as creative as possible as an artist,” said NO1-NOAH. “She&#8217;s really understanding of what a true artist is, as she is one herself.”</p>
<p>As many of you know, last year Summer Walker released her debut album “Over It,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&;B/ Hip-Hop Albums Chart. It has become the most-streamed album by a female artist on Apple Music in 2020, and also won the <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/the-2020-soul-train-awards-nominations-are-released-h-e-r-chris-brown-lead-with-the-most-nominations/">Soul Train Award</a></em> for “Album of the Year.”</p>
<p>Nicole Wyskoarko, EVP/Co-Head of A&;R of Interscope Records added, &#8220;Summer is a true visionary.
