<p><em>The View</em> co-host <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/the-view-co-host-sunny-hostin-trends-after-saying-that-black-republicans-are-an-oxymoron/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sunny Hostin</a> is getting candid about her cosmetic surgery journey and struggles with body image. The 54-year-old television personality sat down exclusively with <a href="https://people.com/health/sunny-hostin-reveals-she-underwent-breast-reduction-liposuction-procedures/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a>. And revealed that she underwent a breast reduction and <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/exclusive-vanessa-simmons-shares-decision-to-opt-for-micro-laser-liposuction-im-ready-to-stop-playing-small/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">liposuction</a> last summer.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Hostin Said Her Decision To Undergo Cosmetic Surgery Was Due To Two Things</h3>
<p>Hostin said down with <a href="https://people.com/health/sunny-hostin-reveals-she-underwent-breast-reduction-liposuction-procedures/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a> and revealed that since her procedures, she feels like a &#8220;better version&#8221; of herself. Hostin also shared the two things that prompted her to firmly decide on the two cosmetic procedures.</p>
<blockquote><p>It was a health decision <em>and</em> a self-care decision.</p></blockquote>
<p>Hostin added that she thought she would feel shame for her decision. But she actually feels quite empowered and hopes her decision will positively impact others.</p>
<blockquote><p>I thought I would feel shame, like, &#8216;Oh my God, I&#8217;m doing plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities.&#8217; But I don&#8217;t feel shame at all. And I hope sharing my story will help more people. If they&#8217;re feeling so body-conscious, the way I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better.</p></blockquote>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Hostin Candidly Shared More About Her Years Struggling With Body Image</h3>
<p>Hostin said that she began feeling self-conscious about her body when she was growing up in New York City.</p>
<blockquote><p>By the time I was 16, I was a double-D. I couldn&#8217;t imagine my breasts would get bigger with childbirth — however, they did.</p></blockquote>
<p>Hostin is a mother to two children, a son named Gabriel, 20. And a daughter named Paloma, 16. She is also married to Emmanuel Hostin, 52, an orthopedic surgeon, as reported by <a href="https://people.com/health/sunny-hostin-reveals-she-underwent-breast-reduction-liposuction-procedures/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a>.</p>
<p>The 54-year-old&#8217;s insecurities grew when she joined <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/video-whoopi-goldberg-makes-emotional-statement-about-abortion-on-the-view/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>The View</em></a> full-time in 2016.</p>

<blockquote><p>My waist was small, but my top was so big I would wear a minimizer bra and a sports bra or a binder all the time. Or I would get a very large dress, and then my stylist would put clips on the back of my dress so that everything would fit.</p></blockquote>
<p>The last straw was when she tried on a gown for the White House Correspondents&#8217; Dinner last April, and the dress&#8217;s bra didn&#8217;t fit.</p>
<blockquote><p>I was crying. I sat there and didn&#8217;t eat anything. I couldn&#8217;t lift my hand because my boobs were going to fall out. Bell Biv DeVoe wanted to take a picture with me. I was like, &#8216;Oh God, they&#8217;re going to have these pictures of my boobs hanging out.&#8217;</p></blockquote>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Hostin Got A Breast Reduction, Lift, And Liposuction On Her Chin And Waist</h3>
<p>Hostin booked an appointment with New York City-based plastic surgeon Dr. Ryan Neinstein and breast specialist Dr. Anna Steve. On August 22, 2022, she underwent a breast reduction and lift. And also liposuction on her waist and chin.</p>
<blockquote><p>It&#8217;s not glamorous.</p></blockquote>
<p>The television personality reportedly hired a private nurse to assist her during her two-week-long recovery.</p>
<blockquote><p>I was up and walking around in three days. I was back to work in two weeks, and I was doing Pilates in two months.</p></blockquote>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Hostin Couldn&#8217;t Be Happier With Her Results</h3>
<p>Today, Hostin, who went from a G-cup to a C-cup bra size, is happier than ever.</p>
<blockquote><p>Now I prance around nude all the time at my house — I feel great. I don&#8217;t know, you may see me naked on <em>The View</em>!</p></blockquote>

<p>She admits that even her view of other celebrities and their bodies has shifted. And adds that despite what others choose to hide or be transparent about, she&#8217;s an open book.</p>
<blockquote><p>I look through magazines and Instagram accounts. I always believed, &#8216;Oh, they must be clean eating.&#8217; No, they&#8217;re not — a lot of them are taking something, or they&#8217;re getting plastic surgery. It&#8217;s their decision to keep it private. But I wanted to be really honest. And I&#8217;m so happy.</p></blockquote>
