<p>SZA is opening up about her brief romance with Drake while transparently sharing her thoughts on finding love in the future. As <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/halle-berry-explains-issue-drake-photo-promote-slime-you-out/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Shade Room</a> previously reported, the pair most recently teamed up for their first collaborative single, &#8220;Slime You Out,&#8221; released last month.</p>

<p>During an interview with <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/sza-sos-deluxe-grammys-drake-snooze-video-1234830913/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rolling Stone</a>, conducted in August and published Tuesday, SZA reflected on her previous romances. The 33-year-old revealed that she was previously engaged for five years to a partner she was with for 11 years.</p>
<p>The &#8220;Broken Clocks&#8221; singer did not disclose the identity of her former fiancé but explained that he&#8217;s a fashion designer who doesn’t frequent social media. Additionally, the singer explained that they called off their engagement around 2017 or 2018.</p>

<p>At this point, SZA explained that she briefly dated Drake while &#8220;spending time in New York&#8221; in 2009. The singer was reportedly 19 while Drake was 22, and explained that the romance was &#8220;childish&#8221; and gave &#8220;youth vibes.&#8221;</p>

<p>As the interview continued, SZA explained that when she was younger, she felt like she needed &#8220;constant validation&#8221; and &#8220;companionship&#8221; from her partners. Now, as the 33-year-old looks toward the future, she feels like she has &#8220;more to offer.&#8221;</p>

<p>The &#8220;Kill Bill&#8221; singer continued by explaining that she wants a partner who values her for her authentic self.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://people.com/sza-reflects-on-young-casual-fling-with-drake-in-2009-8346964" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a>, Drake initially revealed his and SZA&#8217;s brief romance on his 2020 single, &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4RmrWhQxrM" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mr. Right Now</a>.&#8221; The song featured 21 Savage and Metro Boomin.</p>
