T-Pain Cancels Upcoming Tour Due To Low Ticket Sales–Says His Team Wanted Him To Lie About The Reasoning

In the entertainment industry, it’s common for artists to withhold or lie about the success of their careers when they’re no longer as in demand as they once were. However, T-Pain is taking a new approach and being very honest regarding the cancellation of his recent tour.

According to @Complex, T-Pain recently admitted that the reason why his 1UP DLC Tour was cancelled was simply due to low ticket sales. He elaborated, stating that the tour was set to fail from the beginning, while also acknowledging his mistakes in poorly managing the tour dates.

T-Pain said he initially hoped the momentum he had on the first 1UP Tour would translate to the new one, but he was quickly faced with the reality that it would not be possible. He also admitted that he decided to completely end the tour to avoid playing shows that were only halfway full.

T-Pain addressed his fans in a social media post, saying:

“Let me just start by saying that my team set up the tour in September… Some corners got cut. Production went missing. I wasn’t as hands-on with the planning and things as I should have been because I’ve been busy as hell. I thought since the first 1UP Tour went well and sold out every city, it should be good. Having said that, I’m gonna take it upon myself to cancel [the tour]. It just would have been a bad look for me and it wouldn’t have been entertaining for y’all.”

In the most surprising moment of his statements, he revealed that members of his team wanted him to lie about the real reason the tour was cancelled, but he said he didn’t want to lie to fans:

“I was advised to lie about this and say that I needed some time, or I needed some alone time or me time or some s**t like that. We f**ked up. I’m gonna keep it real with y’all. Most artists lie. Whenever concerts get cancelled or tours get cancelled, it’s for low ticket sales.”

Fans who purchased tickets for the tour will be given a full refund. There is no word yet on when/if T-Pain plans to embark on another tour.
