Taraji P. Henson has had a pretty big year and things are only about to get better.
Henson’s new film “Hidden Figures,” was originally scheduled for a January 2017 release date, but the film will hit theaters sooner than you think.
According to Variety, the film was expected to release on January 17th, but now fans can view the film on Christmas Day for early screening. The film will have its nation wide release a few days later on January 6th.
Henson will portray mathematical genius Katherine Johnson, alongside Octavia Spencer who plays Dorothy Vaughn and Janelle Monae who plays Mary Jackson. All three women made history as they played significant roles in the 1962 launch of astronaut John Glenn into space.
Super producer Pharrell Williams will serve as one of the producers for the film and will handle the films soundtrack.
“Hidden Figures” is based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s upcoming non-fiction book, “Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.”
