Documents obtained by Bossip show that Dwayne Wade’s ex-wife, Siovauhgn Funches is seeking at least $10 million in a new divorce settlement after realizing that her former lawyer, Brian Hurst, agreed to terms without her permission. He allegedly never reviewed Wade’s business contracts with Funches which would have revealed that she was entitled to more than the $5 million they are currently settled on. Hurst apparently also agreed to a clause which prevents her from trash talking Wade which she says she’d never agree to. ‘Tuh!
Funches sued Hurst last year for malpractice which is why she is moving forward with re-opening her divorce case. After Wade signed a $47 million deal with the Chicago Bulls last month, a judge granted that Funches could re-open the case. Since she alleges that her former lawyer failed to obtain her basic demands of having Wade pay her alimony since she was an unemployed law student, for her law school tuition, travel expenses for their sons and getting their marital home appraised, she’ll be seeking to get those plus at least $10 million.
“Hurst assured Funches and continued to assure Funches throughout his representation of her, that she was entitled to at least $10,000,000 based on the evidence Hurst had in the case as well as other factors such as the length of the marriage (and) the parties’ employment…” Funches wrote in her complaint.
Finches claims that she supported Wade before he joined the NBA and even helped to develop his career and for that, she feels that she deserves a cut of his endorsement deals from T-Mobile, Staples and Gatorade, as well as whatever royalties and other revenue he brings in.
Hopefully both parties will settle on a fair amount, because this back and forth has been going on since they divorced 8 years ago!
