<p>On Thursday, the <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/coroner-confirms-ysl-rapper-lil-keeds-cause-of-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rapper</a> spoke on the matter through a series of tweets, the first of which read, &#8220;I really just need 1 chance @ adulthood.&#8221;</p>

<p>He proceeded to share that he believes his situation would&#8217;ve been different if he were white. Specifically, he thinks the courts would&#8217;ve offered him &#8220;rehabilitation and a 2nd (1st) chance at adulthood&#8221; rather than sentencing him to 55 years.</p>

<p>The &#8220;Murder She Wrote&#8221; rapper then referenced one of his codefendants—a 16-year-old &#8220;white girl&#8221; who &#8220;ended up getting 10 years of probation without no deal&#8221;—to prove his point.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">The Rapper Is Set To Be In Prison For Quite Some Time</h3>
<p>Back in 2016, a then-16-year-old Tay-K faced serious charges after participating in a robbery that ended with the death of a 21-year-old man named Ethan Walker. After spending some time at a juvenile detention facility, Tay-K was ultimately placed on house arrest as he awaited a certification hearing, according to the <em><a href="https://amp.star-telegram.com/news/local/crime/article232772737.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fort Worth Star-Telegram</a></em>.</p>
<p>Notably, Tay-K ultimately cut his ankle monitor off and proceeded to go on the run for about three months. During this time, he released his beloved &#8220;The Race&#8221; track, which detailed the experience through an iconic verse: &#8220;F**k a beat, I was tryna beat a case / But I ain&#8217;t beat that case, so b***h I did the race!&#8221;</p>

<p>After being apprehended up in New Jersey, the track blew up, and the rapper gained a devoted following. However, Tay-K was ultimately found guilty of murder, as well as three aggravated robbery charges. As a result, he was sentenced to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/23/us/rapper-tay-k-sentenced/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">55 years</a> behind bars.</p>
<p>However, this isn&#8217;t the end of his legal troubles, as <a href="https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2019/11/15/texas-rapper-tay-k-47-indicted-for-murder-in-bexar-county-das-office-says/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>KSAT</em></a> reports that he was indicted on murder charges for a killing that went down while he was on the run.</p>
