<p>MTV personality <strong>Kailyn Lowry </strong>is publicly confirming that she and her boyfriend, <strong>Elijah Scott</strong>, welcomed a son last year. The 31-year-old is now a mother of five boys!</p>

<p>Kailyn shared the news on Friday (Oct. 13) through her podcast, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CyVlysDAJge/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Barely Famous</em></a>. She specifically acknowledged that she would be addressing the rumors on the matter, which were reported on by outlets like <a href="https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/7338809/teen-mom-kailyn-lowry-welcomed-fifth-child-elijah-scott/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Sun</a>.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I have not addressed the rumors about my fifth son, so I can do that now.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Continuing, Kail noted that she and Elijah welcomed a baby boy named <strong>Rio</strong>, whose birth was &#8220;traumatizing.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t have time with him when he came out of my &#8216;kitty cat.&#8217; He had to go right to the NICU — I literally got to hold him for maybe three seconds before they took him to the NICU. And I was so upset.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>She added that Rio had &#8220;probably like six&#8221; nurses attending to him, and she later emphasized that the medical professionals &#8220;didn&#8217;t even put him all the way in [her] arms&#8221; before taking him to the NICU.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I only got to hold him for like three seconds. They didn&#8217;t even put him all the way in my arms. It was kind of like, &#8216;Here&#8217;s your son. You can look at him real quick, touch him as if you&#8217;re holding him, but then they swept him away.&#8217; Which, thankfully they did, because he was in really good hands.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">The <em>Teen Mom 2 </em>Star Wanted To Share The Exciting News Her Own Way</h3>
<p>During a chat with <a href="https://people.com/kailyn-lowry-finally-confirms-she-quietly-welcomed-fifth-baby-exclusive-8356398" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a> on the matter, Kailyn Lowry acknowledged that she was determined to share the news &#8220;on [her] own terms.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Lowry also added, <strong><em>&#8220;I feel like it was ripped out from under me time and time again. &#8230; At this point, I can at least try to do it my way.&#8221; </em></strong></p>
<p>She also called the development a &#8220;pleasant surprise&#8221; that was &#8220;a true light&#8221; after a rough year.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Looking Back On Kailyn Lowry&#8217;s Parenthood Journey</h3>
<p>Fans may recall seeing Kailyn&#8217;s motherhood story unfold on MTV&#8217;s <em>16 and Pregnant </em>back in the day, chronicling her experience welcoming her firstborn — <strong>Issac</strong>, 13 — with ex-boyfriend <strong>Jo Rivera</strong>.</p>
<p>While later starring on <em>Teen Mom 2</em>, she married <strong>Javi Marroquin </strong>and welcomed another son named <strong>Lincoln</strong>, 9. Eventually, she had two more children — <strong>Lux</strong>, 6, and <strong>Creed</strong>, 3 — with <strong>Chris Lopez</strong>.</p>
<p>Now, Kail is a full-blown mother of five and seems to be embracing this brand-new chapter!</p>
