Many people are under the impression that the number of coronavirus cases has slowed down tremendously. However, that is not the case, and many new cases for the virus are being reported daily.

According to CBS News, the state of Texas has reportedly become the first state to surpass 1 million coronavirus cases. This has been determined through data recorded by John Hopkins University. Based on the data, Texas’ case numbers started to increase in October after staying relatively level throughout September.

Data reportedly shows that more than10,800 new cases were reported on Tuesday, and a total of 18,800 people have passed away in the state since the start of the pandemic.

El Paso, TX is now being labeled as one of the country’s epicenters, as the county has reported more than 22,000 new cases in the last two weeks. It is also being reported that there are mobile morgues within the city to hold the bodies of those who have passed away due to the virus. With more trucks expected to arrive this week.

On Tuesday, Dallas county released an updated report stating that COVID cases make up about 21% of all emergency department visits in the county, with 1,401 new cases being reported on Tuesday.

County Judge Clay Jenkins said, “Today’s total of 1,401 new COVID-19 cases is the largest we have ever seen other than days when large backlogs were recorded. Additionally, the preliminary numbers for hospitalizations across both the region and the county show one of the highest one day jumps we have ever seen.”

He continued, “Our COVID-19 outbreak is spiking dangerously. We are 7-10 days away from reaching our highest COVID hospitalization census to date if we do not immediately renew our resolve and change our behaviors.”

It is being reported that California is close behind Texas with more than 986,000 confirmed cases and Florida follows with more than 852,000 cases.
