<p>It is officially award season, which means that one of the biggest nights in Hollywood is right around the corner.</p>
<p>On Tuesday the nominees for the 89<sup>th</sup> Academy Awards were announced, and some of our favorite actors and actresses were nominated this year to win an Oscar.</p>
<p>One film that will more than likely win big on Oscar night is Moonlight. The Berry Jenkins directed film gained a total of nine nominations in categories such as, &#8220;Best Picture,&#8221; &#8220;Best Supporting Actor&#8221; and &#8220;Best Supporting Actress,&#8221; &#8220;Best Director,&#8221; among a host of others.</p>
<p>Another amazing film to compete with is none other than Fences starring both Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Both Washington and Davis snagged &#8220;Best Lead Actor&#8221; and &#8220;Best Supporting Actress&#8221; nominations, along with &#8220;Best Picture&#8221; and &#8220;Adapted Screenplay.&#8221;</p>
<p>The film Hidden Figures will also compete for &#8220;Adapted Screenplay,&#8221; along with &#8220;Best Picture&#8221; and &#8220;Best Supporting Actress&#8221; for Octavia Spencer.</p>
