<p>It looks like the Showtime scripted series “The Chi,” will be around for yet another season as the network has ordered season four of the series, which was created by Lena Waithe.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/the-chi-renewed-for-season-4-on-showtime">The Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, following the success of Season 3, which officially wrapped up last month, fans will get the chance to see what’s next for their favorite characters from the show. Justin Hillian will remain as an executive producer and showrunner for the upcoming season.</p>
<p>Lena Waithe expressed her excitement for the show’s renewal and said, “This show has definitely taken me on a journey. One of learning, healing, and growth. I didn&#8217;t know how this season would be received, but the level of engagement and enthusiasm from the fans has been fantastic. I still can&#8217;t believe our numbers are up by double digits! ‘The Chi’ is<em> </em>a team effort, and I&#8217;m grateful to continue this journey with such an amazing group of people.”</p>
<p>Fans of the show know that there are drama-filled storylines when it comes to the show’s synopsis, but there was also some drama behind the scenes that altered the cast this past season.</p>
<p>As we <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/jason-mitchell-is-getting-booted-from-the-chi-and-dropped-by-his-agency-over-misconduct-allegations/">previously</a></em> reported, Jason Mitchell, who had a starring role on Season 1 and Season 2, was ultimately fired from the show following misconduct allegations. There was reportedly a complaint from his former co-star Tiffany Boone, and former showrunner Ayanna Floyd revealed that she also had to report him to HR.</p>
<p>Showtime Entertainment President Gary Levine also spoke about the show’s renewal for a fourth season and added, &#8220;Each season, ‘The Chi’ authentic storytelling resonates more deeply with its devoted and growing audiences. Lena Waithe together with Justin Hillian explore the joys and the heartbreak of life on the South Side in a way that is unique on television, and we relish the prospect of continuing that exploration with them.”</p>
