There is no doubt that hip-hop is one of the most influential cultures. With so much history and influence, the official Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is scheduled to open its doors in 2018.

According to Pigeons & Planes, earlier this week the Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Museum to the World announced they have acquired a major building and development spot in Harlem, which will be the home of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Headquarters.

In the press release, it was announced that the museum will “preserve, archive, exhibit, educate, and showcase hip-hop music & culture from around the world.”

The development of the museum will be split into two phases, with the completion of the first phase expected to open in February 2018. The ground floor will feature a themed cafe, gallery, visitor center, and gift shop. The second floor of the museum will feature a multimedia studio for film and television content production in partnership with the HHHOF Arts & Media Youth Academy.

The development for the second phase will include a total of 20 stories high, which will include an entertainment complex, 5 Star Hotel, Retail Mall & Gift Shop, Arcade, TV Studios, Sports Bar, Restaurant & Concert Lounge.

Check out the full press release here.
