The 2016 Oscars is fastly approaching
and the nominees have just been announced! Around this time of year we are getting ready to celebrate with some of our favorite actors and actresses who worked hard all year to be recognized for their hard work. Black hollywood is up in a frenzy about the lack of diversity that has been placed on this year’s Oscars and are wondering, “Did we miss the deadline?”
While actress, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and
director, Spike Lee, have taken the stand to boycott the Oscars for the lack of recognition. Fast and Furious 7 actor, Tyrese Gibson has taken an alternative route. Mind you, he is still pissed about the lack of diversity in nominations as well – but he istaking shots at one specific comedian as well.
When the nominations were released,
they released the news that Chris Rock will be the host of this year’s Oscars as well! Tyrese has taken to Instagram this past Monday to express his frustration. In his IG caption he proposes the question, “Is Chris Rock still gonna host the oscars after this blatant racism?? Is everyone still gonna show up??”
Chris hasn’t released any statement about if he is quitting the Oscars if he was standing firm in his position. Clearly, if he stands firm, everybody will be watching to see what the comedian will have to say about this epidemic at hand.
