Tracy Morgan will be starring in a new sitcom on TBS, and recently his new co-star was announced.
According to Variety, Tiffany Haddish will star opposite or Morgan in the untitled sitcom, where Morgan will play a character named Tray that was released from prison for good behavior after 15 years.
According to the show’s synopsis, “Haddish will play Tray’s girlfriend, Shay. He broke up with her while in prison, hoping to spare her a long and hopeless wait. When Tray is released, he finds that Shay has transformed from a tough girl from the streets to an ultra-refined socialite who is now married to a white guy, who is the antithesis of Tray.”
The show is created and executive produced by Jordan Peele and John Carcieri, Tracy Morgan will serve as an executive producer as well.
Peele and Haddish starred together in the 2016 film “Keanu.”
Haddish also stars in the new film “Girls Trip,” alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall.
