<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">TSR Updatez: Tory Lanez has officially been charged in the July shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office just announced.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Los Angeles Police Department had been assigned to investigate the incident that took place in the Hollywood Hills following his initial arrest from the night of the incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tory is facing one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He’s also staring down a gun allegation that he personally inflicted great bodily injury.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">His arraignment is set for next Tuesday in Los Angeles. Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta of the Family Violence Division is prosecuting the case. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While we’ve heard both Megan and Tory’s sides of the shooting, with Megan identifying him as her shooter and Tory denying it, the DA’s office’s account of the events claim Tory and his victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. When Megan exited the vehicle, Tory allegedly fired his weapon several times at her feet and wounded her.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If convicted, he’s looking at a maximum sentence of 22 years. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/megan-thee-stallion-names-tory-lanez-as-the-person-who-shot-her/">Megan had named Tory as her shooter</a> after nearly a month of silence even though she publicly acknowledged that she had been hospitalized for being shot. The incident happened after she and Tory attended a pool party thrown by Kylie Jenner on July 13th.</p>
<p>Fellow artists and fans rallied around Megan, which was also part of a bigger conversation on social media about the importance of protecting Black women.</p>
<p>Tory later<a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/tory-lanezs-team-explains-september-25th-release-date-of-daystar-says-hes-donating-portion-of-proceeds-to-breonna-taylor-foundation-exclusive/"> dropped his album &#8220;Daystar&#8221;</a> and denied his part in the shooting over 17 tracks that also detailed his and Megan&#8217;s relationship.</p>
