In the weeks since the Astroworld tragedy, many celebrities have been caught on camera taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of their fans during large concerts. Big names like Teyana Taylor and SZA have stopped their sets to check on their audiences in an effort to prevent any deaths at their shows.

Travis Scott recently told Charlamagne that he feels it is his responsibility to make sure the tragic incident at Astroworld Fest never happens again, and it looks like he’s already working on a plan to do so. According to TMZ, Travis is working on a new safety protocol alongside national leaders, which aims to improve safety measures at public gatherings.

Sources close to the situation told TMZ that Travis has spent the last few weeks meeting with leaders form a the United States Conference of Mayors to get the plan in motion. The USCM, which lobbies for the interested of more than 1,400 cities across the country, is reportedly helping Travis form a committee to create a safety report for future shows to follow.

An outline of the group’s goals notes it will “aggressively focus on new technologies and innovations that offer ways to address these challenges” with the help of members of government, public safety, emergency response, health care event management, music and technology.

Travis Scott will be joined by the Chair of USCM’s Tourism, Art, Parks, Entertainment and Sports Committee, Hillary Schieve, to lead the initiative.

As we previously reported, Travis’ efforts to make things right haven’t been well received by some of the families impacted by the tragedy. so far, he’s offered to help pay for the funeral arrangements for the victims, and some families, including that of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, have declined his generous offer.
