<p><strong>Trevor Noah</strong> bid his audience adieu in a special announcement on &#8216;The Daily Show.&#8217; On Thursday night&#8217;s episode, <a href="https://people.com/tv/trevor-noah-exits-the-daily-show-after-7-years-my-time-is-up/">Noah revealed</a> that he is leaving his late-night talk show after seven years.</p>

<blockquote><p>There are so many people who make this thing come together, and I want to say thank you to the audience for an amazing seven years. It&#8217;s been wild. I remember when we first started, so many people didn&#8217;t believe in us. It was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice&#8230; What a journey it&#8217;s been.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/top-5-reads-from-last-nights-the-daily-show-with-trevor-noah-tomi-lahren/">&#8216;The Daily Show&#8217;</a> premiered in 1996, and saw two hosts before the position was handed to Trevor Noah in 2015. Since then, he&#8217;s interviewed some of the biggest names in Hollywood and politics including Tyler Perry, Mark Cuban, Beto O&#8217; Rourke, Jenifer Lewis, and even our Forever President Barack Obama.</p>
<p>Noah reflected on some of the most unexpected parts of his career&#8211;including navigating the pandemic&#8211;and has this to say about his journey:</p>
<blockquote><p>I&#8217;ve loved hosting the show. It&#8217;s been one of my greatest challenges. It&#8217;s been one of my greatest joys. I&#8217;ve loved trying to figure out how to make people laugh even when the stories are particularly sh*t on the worst days. We&#8217;ve laughed together, we&#8217;ve cried together. But after seven years, I feel like it&#8217;s time.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>Jon Stewart, who hosted the show for 16 years before Noah, spoke about the evolution of the talk show once Noah started hosting.</p>
<blockquote><p>It&#8217;t not meant as a denigration of me. The evolution of the show was also about opening our eyes to some of the realities of business around us. It was pretty much everything in late-night comedy&#8211;that sort of Harvard Lampoon school of pasty white guys sitting in a room. Evolving the show past that took a really long time. It was a lot of work and often times it came with defensiveness.&#8221;</p>
