When it comes to giving fans the exclusive look at their children, celebrities often take to magazine covers to share the first images—and Tristan “Mack” Wilds is the latest to do so. Tristan decided to finally give his fans an official look at his brand new baby girl on the latest cover of Essence magazine.
Tristan “Mack” Wilds, 30, surprised fans a few months ago when he announced that he was a first-time father, however that is where the announcement ended. He didn’t show photos of his new baby or reveal her name…until now. Covering the 50th anniversary issue of Essence magazine, Tristan, his long-time girlfriend Christina Hammond and their 5-month-old baby girl Tristyn Naomi Wilds are a picture perfect family.
Back in December 2019, Tristan revealed the news of fatherhood via Instagram following a dark period that he now says “just made me feel like I had to be a lot stronger. I had a lot of growing up and strengthening to do to be ready to take care of this little one.”
Tristan and Christina initially met 15 years ago while on the set of his first acting big break, HBO’s “The Wire” and now they are finally parents following Christina’s previous miscarriage.
Discussing about being a new dad, Tristan said this:
“There’s a certain tenderness when you’re raising a girl. You still have to be tough, but ultimately, when you’re raising a girl, you’re raising the closest thing that we have to God.”
He also gushes about Christina, saying:
“Everybody says their woman is their rib. But she’s my backbone. In this business, it’s like, if you don’t have a backbone, you’re a gutted fish.”
As for what’s next for Tristan, well he reportedly has several projects in the works that fans can soon look forward to.
