TSR Positive Images: 13-Year-Old Boy Sold His XBox & Did Yard Work To Buy His Mom A Car

William’s mother, Krystal Preston, told @cbsnews she was in complete shock after her son gave her a gift greater than she could expect. In a heartwarming story on Facebook, Krystal revealed that her son bought her a car.

“I have no words right now that can express how I am feeling at this moment,” she wrote. “The last couple weeks have literally been hell filled with so many tears, anger, confusion and heart ache. Today I got the shock of my life.”

Krystal said she knew William had picked up a few gigs mowing lawns and cleaning yards, but was under the impression he was just trying to be more responsible. She said William turned into a “money making machine”, but she had no idea to what extent.

“William came home and said, ‘Mom I bought you a car,” she said. “I of course laughed and told him, ‘Yeah right!'”

Krystal, a single mom of two, had been struggling to stay on top of all of her bills without a vehicle of her own, and William’s only wish was to make life a little easier for his mom.

When he noticed a woman selling a 1999 Chevrolet Metro on Facebook, he decided that was the car for his mother.

“It was really cheap, so I asked her if I could trade it for my Xbox or earn it,” William said. “At first she said no and then she thought about it. Then, she said yes.”

After negotiating with the woman, William found himself the new owner of the 1999 Chevy. The woman selling the car picked the family up and drove them to see it. Krystal said she had never experienced anything like this moment.

“At my low point, here comes my son,” she said. “Everybody goes through rough patches in their life, but there’s good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it.”
