There is no doubt that Jennifer Lopez has been setting the bar for years when it comes to her fashion. All of which is why she’ll be honored this year during one of fashion’s biggest nights.
The CFDA Awards is often considered the “Oscar’s of fashion” and this year J.Lo will be honored with their Fashion Icon Award. She took to social media to express her excitement and said, “Truly excited to be named CFDA’s Fashion Icon this year! What an honor.”
Diane von Furstenberg, CFDA chairwoman added, “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements. ”
According to Elle, Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA said, “Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable. Designers, including many of our CFDA Members, love to dress her for both stage and private moments.”
Past recipients of the award include Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Pharrell Wiliams, and Franca Sozzani.
The 2019 CFDA Awards take place on June 3rd at the Brooklyn Museum.
