It’s that time again, ya’ll! The time of the year when practically anything and everything can get the pumpkin spice treatment—but this latest creation is sure to have even the most adventurous foodies scratching their heads.
With the fall season only weeks away, brands are vying to see who can come up with the most outrageous version of pumpkin spice-related products…and the makers of Spam are currently in the running for first place. As reported by @todayshow, the Spam brand is set to release a limited-edition line of Pumpkin Spice Spam available exclusively at Wal-Mart online and the Spam company website.
If you’re asking yourself why this is even a thing, well it turns out the idea originated as a joke on Facebook back in 2017, but after a surprising amount of enthusiasm from fellow Spam lovers, the company decided to make it a reality.
The Pumpkin Spice Spam is described as having “a base of the staple ingredients, then adds in cinnamon, clove, allspice and nutmeg to the mix.” To help promote the divisive product, the Spam brand has also developed a breakfast recipe for those who already love Spam—and for those who hate the popular canned meat.
Pumpkin Spice Spam will be available for a limited time beginning September 23…and we honestly don’t know what to make of this.
