#Roommates, let’s talk about some #BlackExcellence this morning! A 14-year-old boy from Atlanta just graduated from high school and college on the same day! Now we don’t know this young man personally, but we are super proud!
“I graduated from Chattahoochee Tech with my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and later that night got my diploma from high school,” Matthew McKenzie told ATL’s Fox 5.
His mother knew he was gifted at a young age so she started homeschooling him by second grade. He went on to start taking high school classes at age 8, and started dual enrollment for college courses at age 11.
So what does he plan to do next? According to reports, Matthew will be studying biochemistry at Kennesaw State University and plans to get his Masters and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
“I want to be a Cosmetic Chemist,” he said. “I want to start my own line of chemical products, the beauty of things.”
