According to @USAToday, Jeff Bezos and his wife #MacKinze have announced a $2B (yes that’s billion, not million) fund to help build preschools and aid homelessness!
Jeff Bezos’ net worth is $164 billion dollars, how Bezos will spend that money has been some topic of discussion. But it’s so great to see where his efforts will be going. Bezos actually took to Twitter to share the news on his twitter account. Naming both campaigns after his “Day 1” philosophies.
One will be called “The Day 1 Families Fund” and their objective is to “issue annual leadership awards to organizations that are doing “needle-moving” work to provide shelter and hunger support for families with young children.” the other will be named “Day 1 Academics Fund” and the fund will launch and operate a network of high-quality, free Montessori-inspired preschools in underserved communities. Bezos said the network will give the organization the opportunity “to learn, invent and improve,” using the same principles that have driven Amazon’s growth.”
