On Tuesday, Steph Curry hosted his SC30 Select Basketball Showcase, which featured some of the top high school basketball players in the country.
According to Sports Illustrated, Curry live-streamed the event on his official Facebook page. Before tip-off, he addressed the crowd and introduced Ansar Mohammed and Letifah Wilson, Nia Wilson’s father and sister.
Curry said,”I’m sure everybody is aware of the tragedy, the loss we’ve had in the Bay Area recently, with the life of Nia Wilson. It was a senseless tragedy that should not have happened. We want to use this game to dedicate to your family, to show how much we appreciate you guys for fighting through this loss.”
With over 78,000 viewers, Curry encouraged people to donate, with all proceeds going to Nia Wilson’s family via the National Basketball Player’s Association Foundation.
By the end of the game, over $20,000 had been donated.
