Colin Kaepernick is giving back in major way. Not only did he donate $25,000 to the DREAM Charter School in Harlem, he also stopped by to give out backpacks and talk to the kids about activism.
He spoke to the freshman class about the importance of speaking out against injustice, along with how to take risks and start difficult conversations all topics the football player surely knows a thing or two about.
I was in Harlem w @nessnitty having a great conversation w/ the freshmen class @wearedream. You all motivate me. Enjoy your new backpacks,” he tweeted.
As weve previously reported, Kaepernick was the first NFL player to take a knee during the national anthem in protest. Hes spoken openly about his desire to bring attention to racial injustice and police brutality in this country.
Well done, Kaep!
