According to the country’s justice minister Bekir Bozdağ, suicide bombers and gunmen have attacked Instanbul’s largest airport, Istanbul Atatürk, and at least 10 people have been pronounced dead.
The Guardian is reporting that after police began opening fire on them, two suicide bombers detonated themselves outside of the security checkpoint near the international terminal. A police spokesperson says that someone, who they believe could be a terrorist, shot at the police who guarded the outside of the airport in hopes of gaining access to the international terminal before detonating a bomb.
