Do you guys remember when we could only upload 15-second long video clips and then that upgraded to 1 minute-long videos? Well, Instagram is really trying to evolve its video features, y’all!
According to reports, the platform is considering allowing users to post hour-long videos! All of the videos would be of vertical orientation and 4K resolution.
The possibilities are endless with this feature—you could upload your own original shows or short films which would put users in direct competition with YouTube!
Currently, Instagram has not made plans on how users can monetize off of the longer videos. According to @TechCrunch, it “eventually intends to let creators and publishers earn money off the longer videos, though it hasn’t finalized how accompanying ads like pre-rolls and mid-breaks or revenue splits will work.”
