Congrats are in order to the legendary Missy Elliott!!

Previously, we reported that Missy was nominated to be inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. Now she will officially make history as the first female rapper to be inducted.

According to Billboard, the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame announced the inductee’s for their 2019 class. Aside from Missy, other inductee’s include, Dallas Austin, Tom T. Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin & Yusuf/ Cat Stevens.

Missy took to social media to express her excitement and said, “I want to CONGRATULATE all the AMAZING songwriters who have been inducted into the 2019 “Song Writers Hall of Fame, also those who were nominated because their body of work is AMAZING.”

Missy now becomes the third rapper to be inducted. She follows behind Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri.

Songwriters are eligible for induction after they have been writing hit songs for at least 20 years.

The official induction ceremony goes down on June 13th in New York City.

Congrats to all of the inductees!
