Roommates, Twitters giving yall some new features and we want to know how you all really feel about it?! Apparently, Twitter will begin testing out a new feature called fleets where you can tweet, upload pictures and videos and they conveniently disappear after 24 hours.
Obviously, the feature is something we are all familiar with as other social media platforms have already adopted this, BUT I will say, its interesting to think about how people will begin to use this new Twitter feature.
According to Verge, Mo Aladham, a Twitter group product manager, said this about the new feature: Twitter is for having conversations about what you care about. But, some of you tell us that youre uncomfortable to tweet because tweets are public, feel permanent, and have public counts (retweets and likes). We want to make it possible for you to have conversations in new ways with less pressure and more control, beyond tweets and direct messages. Thats why starting today in Brazil, were testing fleets, a new way to start conversations from your fleeting thoughts.
If youre like me, youre probably wondering how youre going to incorporate these fleets in your daily tweets. Apparently, you cant like or retweet a feet. You can respond to fleets with a reaction emoji, that will open up a DM with who youre speaking to!
This is not the only new feature will implement, not too long ago we reported that the social media giant will also launch “safe DMs” that will censor unwarranted d*ck pics in your DMs without having to see something you want to unsee!
