#Roommates, today is predictably very hard for Vanessa Bryant, as it is her first Valentine’s Day since the heart-breaking death of her husband Kobe Bryant and her 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Vanessa took to Instagram to post a very touching tribute to her husband and their love story.
Following the news that both Kobe and Gianna were laid to rest in a private funeral earlier this month, Vanessa Bryant has been slowly making her way back to social media by posting heartfelt photos, videos and messages of her late husband and daughter.
Since Valentine’s Day is all about love, Vanessa posted a very moving tribute to Kobe courtesy of Lauryn Hill. In the video collage, she posted a photo of herself and Kobe cuddled up backed by Lauryn’s beautiful ballad “Tell Him” from her Grammy Award-winning album, “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”
In the video, the full lyrics to the song are seen scrolling by—and they certainly have even more meaning than ever before, given just how incredibly difficult things are for Vanessa right now. A few days ago, she also posted a video of her baby girl taking her first steps, as she reminisced about Kobe and Gianna.
In a few days, the NBA All-Star Game will take place and there are several tributes in the works. As we previously reported, Jennifer Hudson has been tapped to perform a special musical tribute and the teams will wear special numbers for Kobe and Gianna.
On the 24th, Kobe’s public memorial will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he played all of his games as a Laker.
