Now there is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, especially when there are two divas involved. However, instead of this battle going down on the stage it’s going to go down in the kitchen.
We all know that Patti LaBelle pretty much took over the holiday season with her Patti Pies, as they were selling out at Wal-Mart’s all over the country. Now Aretha Franklin will be releasing her own line of desserts, but that’s not all. Aside from that she’s also looking to share with the world her recipes for her chili, gumbo and baked chicken and dressing.
Aretha talked with Detroit’s Channel 4, via phone and when they asked if she ever tried one of Patti LaBelle’s pies, she laughed and said, “No I haven’t, but Ms. Patti gonna have to move that pie to the side.”
What makes it more interesting is there have always been rumors that the two never really got along with each other. Many people like to refer back to 2014 when Aretha performed at the White House, and as she glided through the crowd on the way to the stage, she kind of brushed Patti’s hand to the side.
Nonetheless, I’m sure it would be pretty fun to see these two divas go head to head in the kitchen.
