@Deadline reports, Paramount Pictures has officially committed to a remake of the classic John Hughes 1987 holiday road trip comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles starring Will Smith and Kevin Hart in their first big screen match-up. Wills Westbrook Studios and Kevins Hartbeat Productions will also produce the film. The original film starred Steven Martin and the late John Candy.

For a refresher, in the original, Steve Martin and John Candy are two men with extremely different personalities who are forced to become travel partners and bunkmates in a desperate attempt to get home to loved ones for Thanksgiving after their flights are canceled. A hilarious set of holiday travel disasters follow, as they continue to mix like oil and water.
