<p>As a musical artist, your stage name ranks high in importance. Not many people can successfully rebrand and keep the momentum going, especially within the competitive music scene. Still, the odds aren&#8217;t keeping Yung Bleu from taking the leap. He announced a pending name change on social media on Saturday night.</p>
<p>&#8220;New chapter,&#8221; Yung Bleu tweeted. &#8220;I&#8217;m taking the Yung off my name. I&#8217;m just BLEU now! All capital.&#8221;</p>
<p>The rapper did not offer any additional commentary on the name change. So, this means there&#8217;s no clear explanation or defined motive behind the sudden change.</p>
<p>When some fans expressed dislike for the new name, Bleu let them know that the decision is his, saying &#8220;y&#8217;all acting like I asked how y&#8217;all feel.&#8221;</p>

<p>He continued on to address the critics in a seemingly frustrated tweet, given the words used.</p>
<p>&#8220;N***a just said I&#8217;m annoying cuz I said ima change my name lol,&#8221; Bleu wrote in a tweet. &#8220;I can&#8217;t even speak round this b**** I supposed to be programmed to do whatever y&#8217;all feel like I should do! Suckkk my d***kkI Everything I say y&#8217;all don&#8217;t like I supposed to be mute I guess.&#8221;</p>
<p>Despite the tweets addressing critics, Bleu seemed to remain in high spirits as he spoke on his successes in his career thus far.</p>
<p>&#8220;I got invited to the VMAs and nominated for 2 BET Hip-Hop Awards and a number 1 independent album,&#8221; Bleu tweeted. &#8220;A crazy year I surpassed every goal I made for myself the beginning of 2020 god really flexed on my lil plans.&#8221;</p>
<p>As previously mentioned, name changes with continued success aren&#8217;t part of the common cases. Latto, formally known as Mulatto, <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/mulatto-seemingly-changes-her-stage-name-to-latto/">changed her stage name</a> earlier this year, opting to drop the &#8220;Mu.&#8221; The female rapper faced intense backlash for the name&#8217;s historical connotation. Latto teased the change several times before her music streaming profiles officially changed to Latto.</p>
