Y’all are just going to have to get used to seeing Zendaya’s beautiful face, because she’s everywhere! Next week she’ll be playing Zoe’s friend, but she seems to easily take to Dre!
It’s not what you think, though! See, this episode is titled “Daddy’s Girl” and ABC says that it’s about “Daddy Day”, the new holiday created by Dre to celebrate “everything Father’s Day is not.” “My character connects with Anthony’s character because she hasn’t had a dad in her life,” Zendaya told People, “So I had some great scenes with him.” Her character’s name is Resheida (is that black enough for some of y’all?) and will be helping Dre to start off the new holiday with success.
Zendaya said that she really enjoyed working with the cast of Blackish in her interview, because “It’s so great to see diversity on TV, especially in prime time slots, and I loved being a part of that.” She went on to gush about how she took selfies with cast and how much a delight her co-stars Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Marsai Martin and Miles Brown were. Her time with ABC was “so much fun, always joking around and having a great time. I had a great week.”
Not only is Blackish beyond hilarious with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, but it’s a real show that brings real Black issues to the forefront. They operate effortlessly and so does Zendaya! Roommates, will you be tuning in next week?
It airs next Wednesday Oct. 14th on ABC.
