The verdict in ASAP Rocky’s assault case is finally in and has been found guilty. However, he will not have to serve any additional time behind bars. According to TMZ, on Wednesday four of the judges in the case issued their ruling, which included finding ASAP Rocky guilty of assaulting a man during a street fight while he was out in Stockholm. The judges said that ASAP along with his two friends who were also standing trial “were not in a situation where they were entitled to self-defense.”
The remainder of the case depended on whether ASAP threw a bottle at the victim during the fight, which took place back in June. Prosecutors claimed that ASAP threw the bottle at the guy and caused him to get badly cut. However, they were unable to find a witness who saw the bottle being thrown.
ASAP has argued that he had the bottle for protection, but it never touched the guy.
Since it could not be proven that the bottle was used against the victim, judges decided the crime did not warrant any further time served. It was also determined that ASAP does not have to perform community service.
ASAP and his two friends will, however, have to pay restitution to the victim, and also cover Sweden’s court expenses.
According to NBC News, ASAP and his friends have been ordered to pay 12,500 Swedish Krona in damages to the victim, which is reportedly, roughly $1,300.
As we previously reported, ASAP was charged with assault and faced up to two years behind bars. He already served time in Swedish jail as he awaited the start of his trial, and was able to return back to the U.S. earlier this month as he awaited the verdict.
