Facebook Will Now Allow Artists To Charge For Livestreams & Will Add A Video Messenger Option To ‘Facebook Dating’

Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook may not have found a way to remove the poke button in 2020, but leave it to them to find a way to monetize livestreams.

According to the Facebook blog, the popular social networking site will add beaucoup new features, and one new feature is allowing businesses and artists to charge for their live streams.

Facebook Events will now be able to be marked as online only, when hosting events on the platform.

To support creators and small businesses, we plan to add the ability for Pages to charge for access to events with Live videos on Facebook anything from online performances to classes to professional conferences.

So, if youre hosting workout classes to help people avoid the quarantine 15, teaching folks how to put on lashes, or whatever razzle dazzle needed, you can get your coins, while doing so

Facebook wants all the coinz, Hunni (in my Nene Leakes voice)! Their expanding the “Stars” option, which allows you to tip your favorite artists.

“To help you support some of your favorite creators, were expanding Stars to more Pages and more countries. Once you buy Stars you can send them to creators while theyre streaming, and theyll earn 1 cent for every Star.”

In addition to monetizing the livestream option, well also be able to listen to facebook lives with an audio only option. Also, you no longer need a profile to take part.

Were making it easier to access live video so you can watch or listen anywhere. If you have limited data or a spotty connection, you now have the option to listen to the audio only. If you dont have a Facebook account, most public live videos are now available on the web and some Pages can share a toll-free number that lets you listen to the audio through any telephone.

If that aint enough, Facebook is also putting their spin on virtual dating. In the next few months, youll be able to go live with the Facebook Dating option. Currently going live or sending audio or video messages is not an option.

To help people find meaningful relationships even when they cant meet in person, were adding an option in Facebook Dating to invite people to a virtual date. When they accept, youll start a video chat in Messenger to get to know each other. This will roll out in the coming months.

In addition to all of these, you and your friends will be able to clown on FB Live together, by adding them to your live. The Live With option that was once released but later discontinued, is now coming back.

Were bringing back Live With so you can add another person into your live video, no matter where they are in the world. Bring on a guest speaker, interview an expert or perform with a friend.

Facebook isnt the only platform integrating different thangs. As previously mentioned, Spotify now has an option for listeners to tip their faves using Cash App and PayPal.

There’s no exact date, when this will happen. But we’ll keep you updated, Roomies.

Welp! So much for the free livestreams. By the time outside opens up, everything will be unrecognizable.
