#Roommates, its only been a little over a week since the legendary Babyface went head-to-head with Teddy Riley in the highly-anticipated Instagram live battle that reached over 4 million viewers. Sensing the need that fans want even more of his iconic catalog of hits, Babyface has decided to do something very special for Mothers Dayand it involves the classic Waiting To Exhale soundtrack.
During a recent appearance on @TheViewABC, Kenny Babyface Edmonds chatted with the ladies about the musical battle that fans are still talking about, why hes waited 5 years to release new music and the very special Mothers Day treat he has in the works to celebrate one of the most successful movie soundtracks in history.
Babyface revealed that during his battle with Teddy, many were asking him to play songs from the soundtrack and he only ended up playing one, which was Count On Me by Whitney Houston and CeCe Winansbut those requests led him to his next Instagram live show:
There were so many people on the Instagram Live who wanted to hear music from the Waiting To Exhale [soundtrack] so I thought this would be great, Mothers Day, to play the Waiting To Exhale album, tell stories, tell how it all happened and talk about the artists. Because that was half the fun of it all in doing the Instagram Live was being able to tell stories. People were so interested in that. So I thought it would be fun to do as well.
Since practically everyone showed up for Babyfaces last Instagram live music session, perhaps this time artists who appeared on the soundtrack will pop in and also provide commentary on what it was like working with him and recording the classic tracks.
We know one thing, we cant wait!
