<p>In the past there was an attempt to release a biopic on the legendary singer Marvin Gaye, however the film never made it to the screen without his family’s blessing.</p>
<p>Now a new series about the singer has come about, and this one definitely has the blessing from the late singer’s family.</p>
<p>According to the <em><a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jamie-foxx-producing-limited-series-marvin-gaye-951138">Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, Jamie Foxx will be executive producing a limited series about Marvin Gaye’s life along with de Passe Jones Entertainment&#8217;s Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones.</p>
<p>Also a part of the project as an executive producer is Marvin Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III. He said, &#8220;This project will be a powerful and definitive telling of Marvin Gaye&#8217;s life story.”</p>
<p>Marvin Gaye released his first studio album in 1961, and went on to make classics such as “What’s Going On,” “Sexual Healing,” and “Let’s Get It On.”</p>
<p>Jamie Foxx also talked about his involvement with the project, I&#8217;ve been a huge fan my whole life, his brilliance in music unparalleled. Marvin Gaye&#8217;s story has always fascinated me.&#8221;</p>
<p>Another person to give their blessing for the project is Berry Gordy who said, &#8220;Marvin was the truest artist I have ever known. I am confident that this is the right team to bring his story to the audience in an authentic and compelling way.&#8221;</p>
<p>Marvin Gaye died at the age of 44 after being killed by his father following an altercation back in 1984.</p>
