Oh, girl! Someone might need to explain how racism works to #MichelleRodgriguez. Shes getting dragged all on social media for defending her #Widows co-star #LiamNeeson, saying hes not a racist because he kissed a Black woman (#ViolaDavis) following a deeply disturbing revenge story he shared from his past this week.
In case yall missed the tea, Neeson said in an interview with #TheIndependent that he walked the streets for a week wanting to kill a black bastard after a good friend of his was allegedly raped by a black man. This all apparently happened decades ago.
Its all f*****g bull***t. Liam Neeson is not a racist, Rodriguez told @VanityFair on the red carpet last night for the #amfAR gala in New York. Dude, have you watched ‘Widows’? His tongue was so far down Viola Davis throat. You cant call him a racist, ever. Racists dont make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongueso deep down her throat. I dont care how good of an actor you are. Its all bull***t. Ignore it. Hes not a racist. Hes a loving man. Its all lies.
After Vanity Fair shared Rodriguezs thoughts, her statement went viral and people on social media have been letting her have it.
Michelle Rodriguez just needs to stop commenting. She clearly enjoys getting dragged for her analysis, Roland Martin tweeted.
Shanita Hubbard, @msshanitarenee on Twitter, said, Her litmus test for racism is a persons ability to kiss a BW, vs their confession to wanting to randomly kill an innocent Black person. Noted.
In case yall missed it, Neeson made his own apology for the story on Good Morning America Wednesday with Robin Roberts.
I had never felt this feeling before which was a primal urge to lash out, Neeson said on GMA after learning of his friends assault, @usatoday reports. After that there were some nights I went out deliberately into black areas in the city looking to be set upon so that I could unleash physical violenceAnd I did it for, Id say, maybe four or five times until I caught myself on, and it really shocked me, this primal urge I had. It shocked me, and it hurt me. I did seek help.
#Roommates, what are your thoughts Rodriguezs and Neesons responses to the controversy? Let us know!
