Say It Ain’t So!! Apple Might Be Bringing An End To The “Breakthrough Digital Device” That Changed The World Of Portable Music!!!

Can you believe that it’s been 14 years since the first iPod was ever introduced? Well it looks like the iPod era may be finally coming to an end!

This comes in as the NY Post reports that the the music gadget that has changed the world of portable music has been replaced by Apple Music!

The late Steve Jobs introduce the 5gb iPod on October 23, 2001 and by 2007 over 100 million iPods has been sold.

“This is a quantum leap,” Jobs said that day. “For most people, that is their entire music library. And it fits in your pocket.”

Unfortunately as of today, sales have dropped dramatically especially since the iPod hasn’t been updated in almost 3 years.

It is alleged that Apple might be equipping the new  Apple Watch as the replacement gadget for the iPod.

AppleInsider released a statement saying, “Although [Apple Watch] costs at least $349 — $50 more than the most expensive 64-gigabyte iPod touch — it includes 8 gigabytes of onboard storage, capable of music playback when an iPhone is left at home. Future versions of the Watch could increase that storage and come down in price, and offer greater connectivity, such as tapping into the Apple Music streaming service,” it added.

Just incase you are not ready to see the iPod go, Apple says it will still sell the iPod but you just really have to look for it. They will come in only three forms: $49 Shuffle, the $149 Nano and the iPod Touch, from $199 to $299.

Apple has not yet confirmed if it will completely stop selling the iPod but from the looks of it we should all start saying our goodbyes. Let’s chat below who would be sad to see the iPod go?
